Driveway Cleaning Services

Once your driveway is clean and dry, we can apply a surface sealer to impede water absorption and discourage the growth of algae, moss and weeds. This won’t just keep your driveway looking spotless for longer, but will also protect the surface against erosion caused by plants and freezing rainwater.

We use various different sealers to support the long-term health of a range of surfaces. The right sealer for your driveway will depend on several factors, including your aesthetic preferences and maintenance priorities as well as the surface material itself.

Would you like a matt, low sheen, or gloss finish for your surface? These effects are achieved by the use of acrylic- or polyurethane-based sealers which set on the paving surface to produce a “wet” look. Alternatively, an impregnating sealer can be used to preserve the original “dry” appearance of the surface material.

Do you prefer the premium or the low-cost option? For example, polyurethane sealers are relatively expensive but provide up to 6 years of protection against the elements. Acrylic-based sealers are more cost-effective but require reapplication every 2-3 years.

Does your surface need to remain water permeable for drainage purposes? If your paving joints function as drainage, it’s important that their permeability isn’t compromised by the application of a sealer.

Other factors will also have bearing on your choice of sealer: these include slip-resistance, ease of application, breathability and environmental friendliness. An experienced member of the All Aspects maintenance team will happily discuss all these with you and advise on the appropriateness of the different sealers based on your requirements.

Please note that a sealer must only be applied after an appropriate length of time has passed following the ground feature’s installation. This is to prevent the trapping of moisture and other potential issues. The appropriate duration (typically 6 months) will depend on the surface material and climate. Our specialists are happy to advise you on this matter.

Surface protection is an optional add-on and is not included as part of our standard cleaning service.
